The School of Cancer Sciences is one of the leading cancer research centres in the UK with excellent facilities and an active research atmosphere. This post-doctoral research fellow post is to join Dr Jo Morris’s research team within the Birmingham Centre for Genome Biology.
This post involves problem-solving at a high level, the production of high-impact research and team and laboratory management. You will be expected to participate in the supervision of PhD and MSc students as well as participate fully in the team meetings and educational activities of the Lab and Centre.
The post is funded for 36 months, with the possibility of extension to 60 months.
You should have a PhD or equivalent, be trained in biological science and have research experience in protein production, mammalian cell culture and molecular biology. You will also have a good working knowledge of mammalian DNA damage responses or DNA replication and small protein modifier biology. You will be able to evidence the ability to produce high quality research and should have a good first degree in a relevant area.
