An Great opportunity has arisen to join The Parenteral Therapy Team, PICC placing service at The Royal Derby Hospital as an 18 month secondment / fixed term contract.We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible individual to join our team. The post holder will be jointly responsible with the team for the ongoing development of the Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy service OPAT. The OPAT team will be made up of a consultant lead, pharmacist, nurse this role and technician/admin support who together will enable patients who are medically stable and whose only reason for remaining in hospital is the requirement for intravenous antimicrobial therapy to be treated in an outpatient setting. This setting may be within the patient’s home or at a peripheral hospital.The post holder will provide a point of contact for the OPAT service coordinating new referrals with the
hospital and community teams to ensure effective, seamless and safe discharges. They will attend a weekly MDT to review and co-ordinate patients receiving treatment in the community setting.In addition to developing the OPAT service, the post holder will be trained to place PICC and Mid- lines and act as a clinical expert and professional source for patients, carer’s and the multi-professional team for central venous access devices.The post holder will participate in teaching on the current training/education programme provided for both hospital and community nursing staff.Our preferred Contact: To apply for this job please see the full advert on www.jobs.nhs.uk.
